Meet the Founders

Sisters by blood, partners by trade, Alpaza and Anuza Rajbhandary embarked on their entrepreneurial journey together in 2011. After months of brainstorming over endless cups of coffee, they had agreed on a brand name and the broad strokes of what this brand would come to be - sustainable, modern, crafty and Nepali.

Alpaza, a Fashion Design graduate, is the dreamy creative soul of the brand, while Anuza is the goal-oriented go-getter who helms the operations and ambitiously drives the brand forward. Combining their different, but complementary strengths, the duo started Ekadesma with a small shop in Thamel, a bustling tourist street in the heart of Kathmandu.

Having spent most of their lives in the chaotic capital city of Kathmandu, it was only natural that the treasure trove of culture and crafts in this ancient city would inspire their brand. From using locally woven textiles to artisanal hand carved buttons, Ekadesma taps into the endless potential of forgotten crafts and fashions them into contemporary collections suited for the modern lifestyle.

Ekadesma is designed, sourced and crafted in Kathmandu, Nepal.
